Class Description:  This class is ideal for those wanting to begin the process of becoming a true aromatherapist; those with an interest in incorporating healing art of aromatherapy into an existant practice. This seminar does fulfill the GA Massage Therapy Board requirements for continuing education for the next 2 years. This seminar will be taught by one of the premier, internationally trained instructors in the country, Jade Shutes. Please note: this is an Aromatherapy Class and not a hands on Body-Work Seminar. This seminar is open to other non-massage professionals (i.e. Estheticians, Nurses, Hospice Workers, Care Givers, Physical Therapists, etc.) Seminar costs are competive and class space is limited to 40 persons. About the Instructor:
 
Jade holds a Diploma in Holistic Aromatherapy, Holistic Massage, Anatomy and Physiology, and Reflexology from the Raworth College of Natural Medicine in Dorking, UK, and a Diploma in Aromatherapy from the International Therapist Examining board (ITEC). She has studied with Jan Kusmirek of Fragrant Studies and participated in the Purdue University Advanced Studies of Essential Oils.
 
She has been practicing and studying forms of natural healing for more than a decade, and was one of the vanguard of professionals who helped introduce aromatherapy to the United States. Jade Shutes has been an aromatherapy educator and practitioner for over 18 years, opening her first aromatherapy school in the New England area in 1990. Her ongoing study, research and integration of diverse healing modalities such as acupuncture, psychotherapy, herbalism, holistic counseling, quantum physics, philosophy, massage and reflexology culminated in the creation of Dynamic Aromatherapy™. In 2003, the IDA changed its name to: The East-West School for Herbal and Aromatic Studies in order to acknowledge the growing interest in both herbal and aromatic remedies.

Jade has been actively involved with the setting of standards for aromatherapy education in North America, and has authored published articles and textbooks on various aromatherapy issues. Jade is recognized for her leadership roles in the campaign to raise aromatherapy educational standards in the USA, and co-initiated the creation of the National Steering Committee (now ARC) on Educational Standards. Jade is the Past President of the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy.
